EAST HARTFORD, Conn. - Governor John G. Rowland, joined by state
and local officials, youth sports groups, college athletes, and stadium
employees led the ceremonial ribbon-cutting to open Connecticut's new
Rentschler Field stadium.
The stadium's first major event, August 8, will be the State Games of
America's Opening Ceremonies. On August 15, the Hartford Marathon
Foundation will sponsor a community 5K road race starting from the stadium to
benefit the Intercommunity Mental Health Group, a non-profit organization that
assists people affected by mental illness and addiction disorders.
The stadium is also the new home field for University of Connecticut
football. UConn football will open its Rentschler Field schedule August 30
against Indiana. Over 20,000 fans have already purchased UConn football

DIRECTIONS
Rentschler Field is located off of Interstate 84 at Exit 58, Roberts
Street/Silver Lane in East Hartford.
From the North:
Take I-91 South to Hartford to I-84 EAST (Exit 32 - Left Exit). Follow
I-84 East to Exit 58, ROBERTS STREET/SILVER LANE. On the Exit Ramp, keep to
the right and continue straight through Silver Lane into the RENTSCHLER
FIELD MAIN GATE.
From the South:
Take I-91 North toward Hartford to Route 15 North/to I-84 East/Charter
Oak Bridge (Exit 29). Merge left onto Route 15. After the bridge, take Exit
91 SILVER LANE. Turn right at end of ramp onto Silver Lane. Follow Silver
Lane toward the RENTSCHLER FIELD MAIN GATE. For General Parking from the
South, stay in the right lane and turn right into the RENTSCHLER FIELD MAIN
GATE. For Reserved Parking, merge into the left lane and continue straight on
Silver Lane to the RENTSCHLER FIELD EAST GATE.
From the Southwest:
Take either I-84 East or I-91 North. Follow directions above from the
South. From Route 15 North, follow to Exit 91 Silver Lane. See directions
above from the South.
From the East:
I-384
Take Route 6 West or Route 44 West to I-384 West. Follow I-384 West to
Manchester. Take Exit 1 SPENCER STREET. Turn left at end of exit ramp
onto Spencer Street. Follow Spencer Street onto Silver Lane in East
Hartford. Follow Silver Lane to RENTSCHLER FIELD EAST GATE.
I-84
Take I-84 West toward HARTFORD to Exit 58, ROBERTS STREET/SILVER LANE.
At the end of the Exit Ramp, turn left onto Roberts Street and follow to
Silver Lane. Merge into one lane and continue straight through Silver Lane
into the RENTSCHLER FIELD MAIN GATE.
From the Southeast:
VIA Route 2
Take Route 2 West toward HARTFORD. Take Exit 5A, MAIN STREET. Merge onto
Main Street and continue straight through the Brewer Street intersection.
Take next right into RENTSCHLER FIELD SOUTH GATE or continue on Main
Street to the RENTSCHLER FIELD WILLOW GATE.
From the West:
Take I-84 East toward HARTFORD. Follow I-84 East to Exit 58, ROBERTS
STREET/SILVER LANE. On the Exit Ramp, keep to the right and continue
straight through Silver Lane into the RENTSCHLER FIELD MAIN GATE.
PARKING
Season parking is permitted directly around Rentschler Field.
Please follow appropriate signage and directions to those particular

Day of game parking is located directly south and west of the Tower.
Parking lots will open four (4) hours prior to event start time. Entry
gates to the Stadium open 90 minutes prior to event kick-off.
The parking fee for Rentschler Field is $10 for cars, $20 for RV's
and $30 for buses. Illegal parking on area roadways or streets will
result in your vehicle being ticketed and towed. Overnight parking is not
permitted.
Tailgating is permitted at Rentschler Field. Please refer to the
Tailgating Rules listed on www.rentschlerfield.com. All parking lots
will close within two hours after the end of an event.

Rentschler Field was built under the supervision of the State of
Connecticut Office of Policy & Management (OPM) as part of the State of
Connecticut's Adriaen's Landing/Rentschler Field economic development program.
Rentschler Field is being managed by Madison Square Garden, and is the perfect
setting for college football, concerts, corporate functions, conferences,
banquets or special events.
